I found this book for at . The story behind my finding it tells you what I think of the book and the author. I have been having health issues for years. Recently they became much more severe. I climbed into bed and read every book I had that had given me comfort and taken me out of myself. It helped and I felt better each day. I recently had a bit of a backslide and for whatever reason I thought of this book. I couldn't remember the name of the book and I couldn't remember who wrote it it had been so long since I had read it last. I went online and typed in as much information about the books contents as possible and still couldn't find a clue. Then the next day I was going through some of Ms. Roberts latest books and downloading samples when a list of some of her other works caught my eye. I saw one title and thought it might be the one and darned if it wasn't.
We all need to escape our daily lives at times and with few exceptions Ms. Roberts books have provided that escape. I now have all of her books. This book is one of the books I cherish most of her work but every book has something for someone. I believe the reason for her continued success is the diversity of her subject matter. I hope she continues to write for years to come.
From the first to its final chapter, this novel mesmerized and intrigued me. Not a stranger to Nora' s style of writing or her past novels, I ravenously consumed this one to its fairy tale climatic ending, enjoying every conflict and resolution along the way. As usual, sturdy well-developed characters and a remarkable plot allowed one to form strong attachments to both Gabe, Laura , and the Bradleys. I admired Laura's transformation into a formidable mother, wife and lover fighting for what is hers. Kudos Nora, keep writing!
Two people with problems and heartache find each other and through honesty and time together come to know tru love and happiness. What could be better? This was definitely a pleasurable story. Totally Nora Roberts style.
From first word to last,am transported to another world, able to view another reality. The story is of a women fighting to regain her sense of self after being in an abusive relationship. The characters are lovable, the plot is good, and holds up to more than one reading.
Beautifully written. It made me gasp, it made me cry, it made me laugh, all emotions wrapped up neatly in this awesome book. I had all but given up on Miss Roberts books because of the overly detailed sex scenes in some prior books of hers I had read. This was tastefully written, including those. The plot as very well played out.
Laura was on the run from her deceased husbands family who threatened to take her soon to be New born child. Fate intervenes and she meets a moody, solitary man who takes her in and gives her hope, and love. Life is complicated but this stranger helps her sort out life and gives her something she so desperately needs.
I choose the contents of books I read on whether they are uplifting and wholesome. I read the recommendations and the and ratings.
This book started right off with a pregnant and stranded young lady who was 7 months pregnant who had to go to her rescurer's cabin. First thing you know they are having physical feelings for each other.
I realize lots of people enjoy this and that is their choice.
But I was very disappointed at the contents.
If you choose not to refund my money, so be it. I just wanted you to know not all people enjoy reading this.
But if you could please reconsider, I would appreciate it.
This was absolutely one of this author's best novels. From the beginning the characters were a challenge for me to understand,yet they and the storyline were so enthralling that I hated to stop reading. I found time and opportunity every day, and read until I had to take a break. The developments of events and characters were not at all predictable, nor was the full impact of the final outcome.
